When Nieve arrived to us last November with 24 other dogs rescued from a suspected puppy farm, she was terrified - trembling at the sight of people and pacing her kennel in distress. 💔 With gentle care, patience, and the help of our behaviour team, Nieve has slowly learned that kind hands bring comfort, not fear. She’s still a little shy, but she’s made incredible progress and even enjoys quiet lunchtime cuddles with one of our team members. 💕 Sadly, Nieve’s story isn’t unique. Too many dogs i

Although our Rehoming Centre is temporarily closed to the public, we are still here for the vulnerable dogs across Ireland who need us. Our mission is and will always be “to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction”. This week is no different and saw the arrival of nine dogs into our care who are all now in a safe and loving environment while they await on their second chance at a happy life. This is only possible because to the ge

Despite the lock down and the temporary closure of our Rehoming Centre, our Canine Carers are still hard at work behind the scenes, caring for our dogs and making sure they are extra spoiled during this worrying time! This is only possible thanks to our amazing supporters. Right now, more than ever, we need to find more dog lovers to help ensure we can keep saving lives and continue to provide our dogs and pups with the best care. After we shared the amazing news about Neville getting adopted after 4 years in our care, some people asked why he spent so long waiting? Some dogs are overlooked due to their looks (we know, so sad🥺) , some due to their breed or size, and others due to them having specific needs that need to be met in their new home, whether that be medical or behavioural (or sometimes, both). We can assure you we spend every day matching dogs to their new families. Some take more time than others to find that

After 249 days in our care, Jade is HOME! 🎉😭🏡 You might remember Jade from our rehoming appeal back in May. We waited patiently for the right match to come along, and to say it was a match made in heaven is an understatement!🤩 Jade has well and truly landed on her paws, and we are over the moon to hear how well she has settled.❤️ Here is a little snippet of what her adopter has said: "We’re both already obsessed with her. She’s really getting to know us both and really good in the house. We

We have to be honest... 🙈 Some of our dogs have some quirky traits, and we feel it is only right that we warn you about their character before falling in love 🥹🫶🏻 It would be a boring world if we were all the same, wouldn't it? 🤣 #dogshelter #rescuedog #adoptable #dogjokes | Dogs Trust Ireland
